What is ZurEd?
ZurEd is an online education forum designed to offer meaningful, current courses in areas ranging from grief, to infidelity, to helping your parents or in-laws die peacefully and comfortably. We are committed to meeting your desires for lifelong learning, and creating a model that works with your life.
What can I gain from beng here?
We hope that you will gain solutions to problems, an opportunity to begin or deepen your knowledge in a given area and - best of all - live better. Many of us struggle with issues such as "How do I help my teenager avoid Internet gaming addiction when I don't understand technology in the least?" or "My father is 91 and refuses to talk about death. He is in the hospital every other week - what can I do?" ZurEd addresses these issues and many more, in the hopes of enriching life at all ages.
What does ZurEd offer that other sites do not?
ZurEd is born of Dr. Ofer Zur's Zur Institute, an online education business for therapists and counselors that has been in business for fifteen years. Dr. Zur has decades of experience working with professionals and the public on issues of safety, technology, privacy, war, gender relations, marriage and much more. Azzia Zur brings the voice of Generation Y, a current understanding of technology and youth and an intense desire to help people educate themselves. Dr. & Ms. Zur prepare ZurEd courses carefully, and work with authors who have something special to offer. Our material is organized into courses designed to help you learn something - rather than forcing you to pick up an article here, movie there, and try to make sense of it. We know people seek stimulation, answers, exploration, help, collabration. ZurEd provides one single hub, a resource to meet all of these needs.
Who are the ZurEd authors?
ZurEd authors are professionals in their fields of study. Some are well-known, such as psychologist Dr. Arnold L. Lazarus (link to his bio) or Internet addiction specialist Dr. Kimberly Young (link to her bio). Others are experts in their subject area who had not previously seen the public eye. We are pleased to discover and give a platform to new authors such as xxx (link) and xxx (link). Most of all, our authors are compassionate to their audience, passionate about their subject matter, and committed to providing quality, useful, engaging content.
How can I propose a course?
We are always open to new course ideas - those you'd like to see us develop, and those you'd like to propose as an author. Please review our current course listings and contact us to start a dialogue.
How can I gain more access to authors?
Down the line, we aim to offer a discussion board facilitated by the author for every course. Currently, we maintain a blog in the public area, and several more blogs are in the works. If you have a specific request or would like to be in touch with the author, please contact us.
